In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and identifying new business opportunities in the Northeast market, increasing business adoption and market penetration, and supporting all of Halloran’s consulting practices to convert inbound leads to qualified leads. You will provide mentorship, training, and support to the sales team to ensure best practices are utilized for lead generation, identification, and management. You will provide consultation on marketing campaigns, thought leadership, and public relations to build Halloran’s brand and elicit buying behaviors from target audiences. Working within a dynamic sales environment, you will serve in a leadership capacity to ensure there is strong partnership between Sales, Marketing, and Consulting Leadership to successfully drive the end-to-end sales cycle.  

 

Characteristic Duties:

  • In collaboration with Sales, execute innovative outside sales strategies and initiatives to drive the assessment, generation, and identification of new business opportunities in the market that provide profitable revenue for Halloran
  • Partner with Sales and Halloran Leadership to accurately forecast and establish strategies to address gaps in the pipeline
  • Proactively and consistently search for new business opportunities and influence best practices for Sales and Marketing team members
  • Meet with client executives and contacts to articulate Halloran’s value, introduce Halloran as a strategic partner and educate on Halloran’s services to build new business opportunities
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to the Sales team to ensure effective execution of end-to-end sales cycle.
  • Accountable for developing a list of target clients and responsible for researching, contacting, and conducting introductory meetings to uncover potential opportunities.
  • In partnership with Sales, serve as a leader in the development, execution, and strategy of sales education and trainings to employees to ensure employee networks are being leveraged for lead and opportunity identification
  • Establish best practices for communication strategies to tailor client pitches in relation to audience level, size, and company maturity, in partnership with the Marketing function as required
  • Gather industry intelligence and conduct background research on our client’s businesses and key contacts to share with the Halloran Leadership and Sales team
  • Utilize extensive industry knowledge to identify trends and shifts that could provide new leads/opportunities and communicate this with the Sales team
  • In partnership with Sales and Account Champions, develop, execute, and train on best practices for engaging dormant and existing strategic accounts through proactive farming
  • Monitor results of outreach and engagement efforts to adapt style and methods, taking into consideration trends in the Life Sciences industry and Sales as a whole to be on par, if not ahead of emerging trends to seize upon opportunities
  • Represent Halloran at industry conferences and Halloran organized events, such as our Speaker Series, Town Halls, etc., as a leader within the Sales function
  • Review information and data in relation to overall sales goals to drive quality, speed, and efficiency
  • Manage sales activities and new client opportunities within our Salesforce CRM database
  • Provide consultation and recommend best practices on marketing campaigns, thought leadership, and public relations to build Halloran’s brand and elicit buying behaviors from target audiences
  • Perform as a high-level resource to end-to-end sales team to ensure smooth handoffs after lead identification and advise on best practices as it relates to maintaining active and dormant client relationships
  • If assigned direct reports, provide leadership, development, and training as an Advisor and lead execution through others
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of nine to twelve years of sales and/or client relationship experience; additional related experience may substitute for required education
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in the life sciences industry, including biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, contract research organization (CRO), or any area of the healthcare industry
  • Ability to successfully demonstrate executive presence and strong interpersonal skills that result in the development of trusting business relationships
  • Demonstrated history of garnering new relationships, problem-solving, and organizational skills in order to build, lead, and manage key client contacts
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a consulting firm environment or Contract Research Organization
  • Post-Graduate coursework in Business Administration or Life Sciences field
